In Legend of the Sea, Diona is a mermaid responsible for safeguarding underwater treasures. The same applies to various mysterious locations that should be hidden from sight, so no one can uncover them. This is also true of sea legends that should not be revealed. She gives false clues, directing people to fictional locations in order to preserve her world. Her goal is to prevent outsiders from learning about her world and ultimately destroying it. Among the legends that Diona has successfully maintained is the one about Atlantis, the submerged civilization.
