Connect 4
Connect 4 is a classic two-player connection game that is both simple to understand and deeply strategic. The game is played on a vertically suspended grid that is 7 columns wide and 6 rows high, where players take turns dropping colored discs from the top into any of the seven columns. The objective is to be the first to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line of four of one’s own discs. Connect 4 requires players to anticipate their opponent’s next moves, block their advances, and plot their path to victory, all while keeping an eye on their own opportunities to connect four. The game ends either when a player forms a line of four and wins or when the board fills up and the game is declared a draw if no player has achieved a connect four. This blend of simplicity and tactical depth has made Connect 4 a beloved game for all ages, enjoyed in various settings from casual family gatherings to competitive tournaments.
