3 Card Poker
3 Card Poker is a popular casino table game that is easy to learn. Here’s a quick summary of how to play:
- Ante Bet: Players start by making an ante bet, which is a bet against the dealer’s hand. Optionally, players can also place a “Pair Plus” bet, which pays out if the player’s hand is a pair or better, regardless of the dealer’s hand.
- Deal: Each player and the dealer are dealt three cards, face down. Players can then look at their own cards.
- Play or Fold: After viewing their cards, players must decide whether to fold or continue. If a player folds, they lose their ante bet (and Pair Plus bet if made). If a player decides to continue, they must place a play bet equal to their ante bet.
- Reveal Cards: The dealer reveals their cards. The dealer must have a queen high or better to “qualify.” If the dealer does not qualify, players win even money on their ante bet, and the play bet is returned. If the dealer qualifies, the hands are compared.
- Payouts: If the player’s hand beats the dealer’s, the ante and play bets pay even money. If the dealer’s hand beats the player’s hand, the player loses both bets. If there’s a tie, the bets push (no one wins or loses).
- Pair Plus Payouts: If the player made a Pair Plus bet, they win if their hand contains a pair or better, regardless of the dealer’s hand. The payout for the Pair Plus bet varies based on the hand ranking, with higher payouts for better hands.
That’s the basic gameplay of 3 Card Poker. Can you outsmart the dealer? Give it a try now and see if you have what it takes to come out on top.
